Well, Wes Anderson has seemed to create another quirky hit with his recently released, The Grand Budapest Hotel. The film will have been out a month this Thursday but has been surprisingly popular among all movie viewers and not restricted to Wes Anderson’s cult group of fans or Art house fans. While The Grand Budapest Hotel is still not even reached grossing half of his biggest hit, The Royal Tenenbaums, it is doing better than his 2012 film Moonrise Kingdom. As a result, Fox Searchlight has decided to expand the movie into 800+ more theaters starting this weekend which will “virtually every regional market in the country.”
Personally, none of us here have had the time yet to go see The Grand Budapest Hotel, but I definitely will be sometime this week. Feel free to give us some non-spoiling reviews or thoughts in the comments if you’ve gotten the chance to check it out! We’d love to know what you thought, especially because Wes Anderson seems really hit or miss with a lot of people.
Otherwise, be on the lookout for a review (or multiple depending on who sees it) later this week!
