Alright everyone, it seems like a trip back to the Grid might be closer than we think! While there is certainly no official confirmation of Tron 3 being a sure thing, Tron:Legacy director, Joseph Kosinski, has a story in mind if he is chosen to direct another installment of the series.
Apparently his plan for Tron 3 would be to pick up where Legacy left off and we dive right into the real world relationship between Sam (Garrett Hedlund) and Quorra (Olivia Wilde) and the possibilities of her powers. Kosinski also brings up Cillian Murphy’s character, Edward Dillinger Jr., and the paralleling father/son dynamics that would be seen.
Kosinski has a lot of ideas for the possible third Tron film and I really hope Disney brings him back. I actually liked Tron: Legacy a lot and thought it was a cool modern addition to such a classic movie. I really hope the third movie does come out at some point and continues where Legacy left us.
Hopefully more news will come out about this soon, but it’s just nice to hear some talk of returning to the Grid!
